St Bathans

St Bathans.  A beautiful ugly reminder of our gold mining past.  The lake covers mining equipment from another age, and the remains of the once thriving township speak of colonial cottages and a haunted hotel.

I'm often drawn to slightly out-of-the-way places and unless you're one of the lycra clad many doing the rail trail bike, this place doesn't draw a heap of visitors.

I started out thinking this project would be in colour and after a day of wandering through crevices, up over and around rocks, I went to Ilford 200 and my medium format Mamiya 7ii.

As with all my work please enquire about prints, sales, and commissions.
